Usually the balance of an individual is most commonly affected due to problems with the inner ear. This is commonly known as benign proximal positional vertigo.
Community Physio is experienced in working with people suffering from balance and/or inner ear related problems. Our vestibular assessment will include an observation of eye movements and gaze fixation to exclude any other issues that may be causing the symptoms. We will also conduct tests to find out if the inner ear is the part of, or the problem.
We will support you during this process as some of our tests may trigger your symptoms. This is generally a good sign as then we know that we are on the road to recovery. If, on the other hand, our tests do not provoke your symptoms then this may not the right treatment for you and we will advise accordingly.
Due to lack of mobility during these episodes of dizziness/vertigo it is really important to rehab the physical side as well and regain your balance, muscular strength and general mobility.
This can also affect your confidence so it is really important not to delay and seek help straight away. Therefore, give us a call and we can discuss your symptoms further.
